Reaves ejected because of a clean hit. Are these refs that incompetent ? |

I agree. It was a clean hit. Ironically, so was Wilsons hit last week. |

Absolutely love Ryan Reaves ... especially after his dismantling of Wilson last night. Although no one likes to see a player get hurt, Reaves had just about everyone in the NHL outside of DC smiling last night. Only regret is that RR still isn't with the Pens. |

Eh not really, Seney didnt have the puck for quite a long time, he came from behind and could have easily avoided and didnt. |

Little late. |

Credit to Reaves for hitting him right square in the body, didn't "Tom Wilson" him and get the shoulder or elbow up into his head. BS call on the 5 minutes and getting tossed

I measured it (roughly) at 0.5 seconds after Wilson released the puck, which would be within the 0.6 second NHL guideline. Also, tie goes to anyone who plasters Wilson. |

I have no problem with the league's decision to not suspend Wilson last week and Reaves last night, however, I don't think they should be considering if a match penalty was given as criteria for a suspension. If someone were to make a lot of dirty hits and constantly get off of being suspended because they received match penalties, would this then affect a lengthened suspension as a repeat offender? |

I watch the hit several times and yes, it was a little late. Reaves hit Wilson on the shoulder and Wilson hit his head on the ice after his helmet came off. You have to ask, if Wilson had his helmet secured would he have been knocked out? If he wasn't knocked out would he had gotten the game misconduct? All too often the penalty if based on whether a player gets hurt or not. |

Womp womp for Wilson.
The hunter becomes the hunted.
I don't think anyone outside of the Caps fanbase is calling for Reaves to be suspended for this one.

Outside of the homer fanbase I'm not sure there's a unanimous opinion it was worth a match penalty either. If the helmet stayed on it probably would have only been 2 minutes. |

Another good review of the game and especially, for those that didn't get to watch or be there. |
